So here we go again with another bitchin’ episode of awesome music. Ok, it has to be said though that I am on painkillers due to serious back pain and I think I said the Hellacopters tune was called You Got Nuthin’ instead of You Are Nuthin’ and I can’t remember in my dazed state. It’s been a hardcore week of shows and yeah, it’s all over the place but it doesn’t matter cos the music is bitchin’. Hell yeah! Listen to it right now here… or why not just right click and save as on this link, grab yourself an MP3, pop it on your iPhone and voila, listen to it at your leisure, cos ROCK!

So today I was told some things that I didn’t know about that I wish someone had told me sooner. I am learning about mistakes I made and I promise myself I will never EVER let this happen to me again. I feel like such a fool for believing.
So how does this record tie into this? It doesn’t but it’s one album that totally rocks my world and I need something that does exactly that right now. Need to stay on top of things.
Episode 168 - Where Did She Come From?
Again it was a long time between podcasts and I do apologise but don’t stress because there are so many good songs on this episode of this week’s podcast. It’s a long show so bear with it and I still don’t have a new microphone so of course the mic sounds like shit. Still though, it could be worse. I am going to invest in a new mic soon. Anyway, I have been crazy busy and dealing with a ton of personal issues in my life so I do apologise if this episode is a bit of a downer but I hope you see where I am coming from here. Either way, if you have dealt with depression before, maybe you will get something out of it. If you want to listen to the latest episode, click here or right click and save as on this link to save a mp3 of the show to listen to later.

I just uploaded this really old and rare Hellacopters video from 1997. Has Dregen in the band and was broadcast on a small town TV station. Very cool!

Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - “Away We A Go-Go”
A few years back, the Hellacopters teamed up with The Flaming Sideburns for a split record and they recorded a kickin’ cover of the Smokey Robinson penned “Whole Lotta Shakin’ In My Heart (Since I Met You)”. I had searched far and wide for this song as I wanted to hear the original and see just how different it sounded as the Copters version was quite the rock n roll number. Nowhere could I find this song. Every record I picked up that had Smokey’s name to it came up empty. That was until I waltzed in to Motown itself, Detroit Rock City, in 2009. I scoured the record stores and low and behold I found this staring at me for $2. I picked up the record, saw the song titles and flipped. Finally! There it was! I thought to myself, this record is gonna be scratched to shit due to the age of the thing. I took the record out. It looked mint. Like no one ever played it. I was blown away and quickly parted ways with my $2 and left smiling away. A very happy Damo indeed.
And how does the original sound? Well, it’s awesome. But then again, what else would you expect from Motown? Great stuff. The Copters knew how to pick ‘em.
I got a whole lotta shakin’ in my heart since I met you :)
This is what happens when the Hellacopters take on Motown. Yeah baby, this is Sweden’s finest covering Detroit legends, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles.
The first time I ever saw The Hellacopters live. This show totally kicked my ass. Amazing gig.
